Camphorwood has a pleasant odour which repels moth and it is still there, so useful for storing precious fabric, etc. The darker markings are the original makers tool marks, a most unusual feature. The inside lid is painted with the owners name and two flags. Of a deep golden honey colour hue and patina. Useful as coffee table, tv stand, blanket chest or at the foot of the bed. Formally with interior candle boxes, hence slots in interior. In good condition commensurate with age use and as per images.
