Description
This handsome example is made from dense closely grained timber making it heavier than is usual and therefore a very stable and sturdy tripod table. The circular top tilts by releasing a brass catch. The turned shaft and spiral are crisply carved. The mahogany top is not highly figured suggesting it was possibly made to hold a laden salver or heavy lamp. Well proportioned, original colour and deep patina. Old repair to the top.
