Description
A well proportioned and beautifully made mahogany commode, bedside table, or night table. The model is associated with the north country, Lancashire in particular, the design attributed to the famous firm Gillows of Lancaster and is of the quality associated with their work. There is a gallery and the back legs at the top have eye appealing concave scallops. Both shelves are hinged indicating its former use. The sides are panelled and the beautifully figured front inlaid with a lovely oval. This item combines quality with timeless appeal and can be used as a book shelf and lamp table too.
