Mid to late 19th century Anglo Indian military campaign blanket box

A good mid to late 19th century Anglo Indian military campaign blanket box or chest made of teak. This chest is of dovetailed construction with original brass straps, and screws on the top, front and reverse for decorative effect and probably made for an officer. The grain of the top surface is raised, having been exposed to the elements over a period of time giving it good character, colour and patina.

The brass straps and the lock are original. This item also makes a very useful coffee table. The brass grips have been specially made and match the original keepers which hold them. There are no splits in the carcass, though there has been an old repair to the front of the lid which blends in well.
