18th century copper foot warmer

An unusual 18th century copper foot warmer originally for use in a coach or or possibly by the military. Constructed by folding the copper sheet over four oval hoops which is why three depressions where feet have rested are visible. Covered with tiny indentations, full of character and a wonderful salmon pink colour. This example retains the original brass screw stopper with ring loop. Two charming repairs where it has burst are visible. The carrying handle is cast steel which does not bend when full of water.

Length 23.5 inches 60 cms

Depth 10.5 inches 27 cms

Height 4.75 inches 12 cms (including the ring handle)
